Andrijana Bergant, LLB, EMBA, CCEP-I, President of EICE

Andrijana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from University in Ljubljana and she completed postgraduate studies in management in 2010 at Cotrugli Business School in Zagreb (accredited Executive MBA). During her career, she graduated from an in-house international insurance academy and from the School of banking at Slovenian Banking Association. She holds an international certificate in compliance, CCEP-I and had just completed a study for another, ICA Advanced Certificate in Business Compliance. Her earliest experience include legal positions at Tax administration of the Republic of Slovenia and at stock brokerage firm Ilirika, d.d. For the last ten years, she held various expert and leadership roles in the field of corporate compliance and integrity, at Triglav Insurance Company (7 years) and NLB, d.d. (3 years), including the international group perspective of these two corporations in the Adriatic region. At the insurance company she also took part in several project management in the context of internal governance. Her latest was head of the strategic project for adjusting to the corporate governance requirements of the Solvency II directive. She was the first president of the compliance committee at Slovenian Insurance Association. Between 2012 and 2014 she also served as a member of the international committee for CCEP-I exam (professional certificate) at Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, based in US. She is a co-creator of Declaration on Fair Business (by UNGC Slovenia) and Slovenian Corporate Integrity Guidelines, both signed by many Slovenian companies. She is an independent compliance and ethics consultant, since the beginning of 2018. At the end of 2014, Andrijana established and took up the lead of EICE – European Institute of Compliance and Ethics, which is now her primary occupation.

Annie Wartanian Reisinger, J.D., Advisor at EICE

Annie has practiced law at the top international law firms of Kelley, Drye & Warren LLP, McGuireWoods LLP, and Miller and Chevalier Chartered where she was responsible for investigations and compliance with international anti-corruption and trade laws. During this time, Ms. Reisinger conducted numerous international investigations, risk assessments, due diligence reviews, trainings and audits for multi-national companies throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia. Ms. Reisinger also served as the Aerospace Director for Export Compliance Investigations, Audits, Training, Procedures, & Operational Excellence at the Fortune 100 company Honeywell International where she managed a global compliance oversight team charged with overseeing compliance for the Aerospace business. At Honeywell, she was also a subject matter expert for the Aerospace Mergers & Acquisitions team responsible for identifying acquisition risk and risk mitigation strategies. She lived in Slovenia for almost two years, between 2016 and 2018, and during that time, she worked as adjunct faculty at the European Faculty of Law in Ljubljana, guest lectured at the University of Primorska in Koper, and started to serve as an Advisor to the European Institute of Compliance and Ethics (EICE). Ms. Reisinger is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the Johns Hopkins University, l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), and the Georgetown University Law Center. She also holds a certificate in European Union and Comparative Law from the Facolta di Guirisprudenza, Universita di Siena. Ms. Reisinger is fluent in English and Armenian and proficient in French.

Jurij Giacomelli, Founder and Managing Director at Giacomelli Media Ltd., member of the Tribunal of Honour at MAS

Jurij Giacomelli is the Founder and Managing Director of Giacomelli Media Management and Consulting Ltd. (Gm), founded in 2012 and President of the Italian-Slovenian Forum. He was awarded “Young Manager of the Year” (2004) and the honorary title “Cavalliere dell’ordine della Stella d’Italia” (Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy) (2015). In the course of his career he served as CEO of several news publishing firms including Finance (Slovenia’s business daily) and Delo (leading news publisher), founding CEO of Gorenje Design Studio, Member of the Management Board of Prva Group, general secretary and corporate communications director of NLB. During his career he got deeply involved with issues of transparency and corruption, especially in the role of the publisher of news media companies. He published several articles related to grand corruption as well as on the role of the media in pursuing more transparent societies. While with NLB, he contributed to the transformational process in the Bank, where the reinforcement of the role of compliance in the organisation was one of the fundamental elements of this process

Saša Mrak, Executive Director of Managers’ Association of Slovenia

Saša Mrak has more than 15 years of experience in the area of HRM, marketing and public and media relations where ethics and compliance have always played a vital role. She was the first leader of the Golden Thread – a media research project and selection of the best employers, where she worked as acting director of the on-line edition of Dnevnik, before her departure in 2011. Later, she worked as a Head of Marketing and Public Relations in Kranjska investicijska družba, working in a small Slovenian family company at the time of crisis as assistant to the director in charge of relationships with banks, loan reprogramming and development of investment in a new manufacturing facility. She was also an  Editor in Chief of HR&M Magazine, consultant or co-creator of many other projects and training courses in the area of corporate development, human capital, management and entrepreneurship, and an active contributor to the development of the HR and management profession. In all those years she participated, or still does, as a member of committees in the selections such as the HRM Project of the Year, Organisational energy in companies, Best Employers Selections, Social Responsibility practices.
